Supreme x The North Face Part 2

Supreme and The North Face come back for round two with a second collection this season

Supreme TNF

After dropping the lambskin leather capsule, Supreme released the second part of their The North Face collaboration for this season. Those who missed out on the first collection were given a second chance on a much more affordable release. There were jackets, fleece jackets, waist bags, backpacks, travel wallets, hoodies, tees, beanies and even a compass necklace. Three colorways were available for most of the items: red and white, black, along with green and purple. The hoodie and tee both feature a graphic of a skier, accompanied by the logos of both brands.

The drop experienced a severe lag and slow processing times, both contributing to delayed sell out times. Luckily, I was able to grab a black hooded jacket in size medium for $498. I could not believe my luck because I had taken my time and did not check out as fast as I could have. This was partially due to me thinking I would have no chance at copping, since The North Face collabs are usually very hyped. However, after a painfully long “processing payment,” I received an order confirmation and got the jacket from Supreme within two days.

The all-black jacket is made with Goretex Cordura fabric, which provides water-resistant capabilities. On the hood of the coat, there is a small flap, perhaps serving as a visor, which has “Supreme” stitched into it in white. The right arm has a Supreme logo, alongside a The North Face logo. The front side of the Jacket has Goretex Cordura branding, and last but not least, both sides of the jacket have the usual TNF embroidery. Personally, I felt that the jacket was very well made and of high quality, perfect for keeping one protected from bitter winters. However, considering one is paying a premium price for the collaboration, I would have wanted more Supreme branding on it. I’m sure many other hypebeasts felt this way about the collection also.

It was this lack of branding that made me skeptical about purchasing because I was unsure whether or not there would be a good enough margin for a reselling. That morning I had checked to see how much things were going for from the UK drop, and found the black jacket to be selling at around $800. Obviously it would decrease after the world-wide drops to come, but I figured I could potentially make a couple bucks. During English class, I bought the jacket, at lunch I listed it on eBay, and by the end of the period it had sold for $700. It currently goes for around $775 on StockX, but I am content with putting a crisp $100 bill in my pocket.
